Background
Before starting my professional career in coaching, scouting and as a sportsdirector, I was a professional football player. I played for

I also played for the Dutch national team (under 16 up to and including under 21).
During my career I won the League Cup 3 times (in 1994 in Germany, in 1995 in The Netherlands, and in 2000 in Austria), and I won the national championship with Feyenoord in 1999.
I gained Champions League experience with Feyenoord, and UEFA Cup experience with both Bayer Leverkusen and Feyenoord.
