What means scouting to me? For me it’s a process before making the right decisions in signing the right profiles for a footballclub. Unfortunately there is a lot of emotions involved in decisionmaking at footballclubs. Fans and press can put a lot of pressure on decisionmakers in the club, this pressure might cloud a clear view. Therefore scouting is crucial to deliver facts and show a clear analytic and non-emotional view on football. A professional scouting combined with knowledge of the football markets is key for every footballclub!

Before making decisions, a clear analysis is THE foundation to make clear decisions! Its very important to analyze based on facts, based on a non-emotional view and based on a strong and reliable network. With a lot of experience in football business, it becomes easier to analyze because of multiple similar situations I went through before.

Throughout 33 years in the football business on a fulltime basis, I worked with loads of people with great knowledge and vision. In this period as a player, coach, headscout or sportsdirector, I met a lot of people who accompanied me through all these years. They are the foundation of my network and provide me with important information or advise. Happy to have strengthened and expanded my network in all these years. A strong and reliable network is key for every (head)scout or sportsdirector.
